I’m thinking if I got a Diamond CP6 instead of my army big stick would it be a good solution, and would I still be ok to use it on 11 meters? I don’t. Of course, others may disagree but I am coming to the end of a roll of D10 surplus cable that has been made into just about every antenna type I could fit in vp6 garden and that’s what worked for me, although my next attempt when the weather perks up is going to be a sterba curtain. The CP-6S covers the lower end of 80m. Jeez, sounds like they’re made from junk. I replaced the wire, 24mts of it with a slightly heavier gauge wire and removed the plastic pole holders and replaced them with aluminium pole holders wrapped in insulating tape and a double u bolt on each holder, so it’s been repaired and it work’s fine now and resonant on 15m band I’ve currently got djamond old school Shakespeare Army Big Stick up just now for 11 meters and it works quite well. Quite a bit less in cost.
Diamond CP6 or not? Julian Thursday, September 30, at 9: At first Diamoond thought it was great, seemed to work OK, but the only thing I had to compare it with was a piece of wire. This product has been discontinued. It will out perform dipoles when it comes to long distance contacts and even compare favourably with beams located 10m or more above ground.
