Interview with "Top Model"'s Michelle Babin - AfterEllen
Cycle 7 is one of my favourite cycle ever mainly because of Caridee and the twins and also Anchal. I mean the cast for cycle 7 were all model. antmrankingskd. 4. It's a shame that Michelle wasn't as passionate as Amanda because she was a pretty strong model. ANTM cycle 7 (Model Stereotypes). hair-restore.info conducted an interview with Cycle 7's Michelle Babin by Malinda Lo, Senior Writer): This season, America's Next Top Model broke its final five, along with Melrose, CariDee, Eugena, and her twin sister, Amanda. . I' m just really shy when it comes to relationships, so I kind of get scared.
How did it feel to deal with that stuff with cameras everywhere? It was kind of awkward, but by that time I had kind of gotten a little bit used to the cameras.
I mean, they asked me the question in an interview with the directors, and I just answered it honestly. You said the directors asked you in an interview. Was this before you were on the show?
No, no, no — while I was on [the show]. Every week we did interviews with the directors, just to get footage and stuff. So how did it happen?
Did you suspect … before Top Model that you might not be straight? Yeah, I had actually been contemplating it for awhile. How do you identify right now? Either as not straight or bi, because I do think I find women attractive. Your sister seemed to have a bit of difficulty dealing with your coming-out at first, but she seemed to adjust fairly quickly, and your mom seemed very supportive on the phone.
Yeah, my mom was really supportive. I knew she would be OK with it, so that was cool.
Michelle Babin Interview with hair-restore.info (Nov 06) | Where are the models of ANTM now?
How is everything going with you and your family now? Like she thought one of the directors had tricked me into saying it. Do you feel that you were portrayed accurately for the most part? Yeah, for the most part I was pretty much portrayed accurately. Is there anything you would have done differently? What do you think of Eugena? On one hand, I had the moral support and trust of somebody who was there. The other girls didn't exactly get somebody they could trust, because they were on their own.
The only bad part is that maybe I had to worry about two people instead of one. Like, after the audition, I was worried and thinking, "OK, I got called. But now I'm not happy, because Amanda has to get called, too. Any regrets about revealing your sexual confusion on the show? I really didn't care. It wasn't that big a deal to me. I mean, I know it is a big announcement.
I don't want people to think I took it lightly and said, "Oh, it's no big deal. It is who I am, and I don't think it should be that big a deal.

So did you come to any conclusions in the end? I'm definitely bi, but I don't like coming to conclusions. I don't like making decisions that much! But I decided it's OK to not know. Eventually I will, and I can take my time.
Do you think it was a cheap trick on the part of the producers to have you pose as Ellen DeGeneres and girlfriend Portia de Rossi right after you'd admitted that you might be gay? No, I thought it was hilarious! I wasn't upset at all. It was like, "Oh, wow, that's ironic. I wasn't unhappy at all. I thought it was kind of funny and one of those things where you're like, "Oh, geez Every time we got a break I was jumping around and she was just like standing in the sun.
I think moving around so much helped me stay warm. How do you feel about that? What really happened in the Top Model house? Living in the house with the other girls was interesting.
Michelle Babin - IMDb
There was no privacy whatsoever. So, there was always someone talking to you.
I actually had a lot of fun with it. I love being with people. It was crazy at times but it was okay. Was your confidence shaken when Michelle was eliminated?
There was just a lot of things going on that week, so I think I was the weakest in that area. In what ways are you and Michelle different? We carry ourselves differently. When Michelle gets nervous she talks very fast. I can talk really fast. We both do that but she does a little more. Were the judges too critical at times? Do you remember some of their criticisms? I would say the boy judges were the most critical. I think Tyra and Twiggy were always trying to be nice and constructive with their criticism.
