Resident Evil 6 / Trivia - TV Tropes
For example, there is a section of the game when Leon and Helena must separate and get through a maze-like area with the use of cranks. But beyond quirky lines like this, the very setup of the game is similar to previous titles. Leon starts in a town that he clearly states more than he needs to resembles Raccoon City, the place the first three titles took place. While these clear nods to the past titles are fun, they do not ultimately put the game at the same level as the previous titles for a variety of reasons.
One of the biggest complaints that can be made about Leon in Resident Evil 6 is that he simply does not feel as lively as in previous titles. He is the star of all of the current animated films, as well as the sole reason that people critically lauded Resident Evil 4's turn towards the series' now standard action-packed atmosphere.
He is also very clearly a fan favorite for the series. But in the case of Resident Evil 6, he doesn't garner the attention he usually does.
This may be because this is the first time since becoming what can best be described as an action hero that he has actually worked through a game with a partner, Helena. More so than that, it's the first time he has been in a game with two other main protagonists working in the backdrop.
Perhaps not being a solo act has left Leon in an awkward stage, where he can't outshine all the other things going on. He still has quippy one-liners, still seems like he is physically and mentally strong.
He is still a hero.
